Behaviour Support Statement

At Hillside Education, behaviour is understood as communication. Our approach is trauma‑informed, relational and grounded in emotional regulation. We prioritise strong, attuned relationships that help pupils feel safe, connected and ready to learn. Staff use predictable routines, coregulation, restorative practice and adaptive teaching to support pupils to make safe and positive choices.

Positive Handling (PRICE) Statement

Positive handling is used only as a last resort and only when necessary to keep pupils safe. Hillside Education uses PRICE (Positive Approaches to Challenging Behaviour), a nationally recognised, trauma‑informed system certified under the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN). Any physical intervention is proportionate, necessary, time‑limited and carried out by trained staff. Our focus is always on prevention, de‑escalation and relational safety.
