Safeguarding Statement

Safeguarding is the foundation of everything we do at Hillside Education. We provide a safe, nurturing and predictable environment where pupils feel protected, understood and able to learn. Our safeguarding culture is trauma‑informed, relational and proactive, recognising that pupils with SEMH needs require strong, attuned adult relationships to feel secure.

We work closely with safeguarding partners across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire to respond to contextual risks such as exploitation, peer‑on‑peer harm, serious youth violence and online safety concerns. Staff are trained to recognise signs of harm, respond promptly and work collaboratively to keep pupils safe.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Our DSL is Nyree Parker (Headteacher) and our Deputy DSL is Emily Wilson (Deputy Headteacher).
